How Trick of the week and Weekly ranking works

To participate in the Trick of the week contest you must upload a video and select trick, nothing else.

What if I upload more than one per week?

Up to three tricks posts per week can be rewarded, more will be considered spam and only the highest scoring one will be visible on the home page TOTW RANK and count towards the final choice.

How is the winner chosen?

Automatically every Monday at 00:01 hours, Europe/Madrid time zone, the app chooses the trick of the previous week using an algorithm to calculate the score based on some stats of social interaction (likes, comments, shares,...).
You can upload tricks from Thursday from 12:00 to the following Thursday until 12:00 (Madrid time). Tricks uploaded within that period compete in the current week closing on that Thursday.
Tricks uploaded from Thursday at 12:00 onwards compete in the following week but will not appear in the TOTW RANK section on the home page until Monday.

Rules

• No rules about the trick. Your choice.
• Winner will go to the TOP 5 main page section forever.
• The algorithm can penalise you for: spam, auto-likes, likes with fake users, poor video quality or poor recording quality among other parameters. So don't try to cheat, the system detects as many mistakes as it can.

Recommendations

• The video must be new and unique. Especially if you post a trick that you think will be in the top 5, wait for us to share it on Instagram and other networks before you share it yourself. We share the top 5 every week on @skatehype.app and other networks.
• It is a good idea to like and comment on the tricks you like most that are not your own. Support each other's efforts.
• It must be well recorded and posted with the original file, at full resolution and frames per second, no cuts, no black bars, no logos, no ads. At most minimal editing to shorten the recording to just the trick, which you can do from within the app itself.
• Share your profile or content from your profile, such as a trick playlist, albums or other content. Getting visitors from outside the app to your profile scores points for both ranking and rewards.
• Remember, this is just a game that should serve as extra motivation for your skateboarding, if it's making you obsessed or creating bad vibes don't play.

How can I be rewarded?

You must have a Hive account connected to your skatehype.com profile. Every day several tricks will be rewarded and chosen by the order shown in the TOTW RANK section.

• You must be of legal age or have your parents' authorisation to participate.
• Comment, comments are also rewarded!
