A Day At The Brooklyn Banks (1995) Shot on 16mm

16mm footage shot by Ray Knives over at @prizefighterny,

“” “To make a longer story short-my friend Adam Rothlein and I shot four 100 foot rolls of 16mm to send to Big Brother to be used in their first video ‘Shit’. I called a bunch of heads who were good to meet up but most didn’t show. It was a Spring Sunday and mostly cloudy, very windy and cool. There were always a lot of rippers at The Banks but that day the only on that stand outs was Ray Wong and another i cannot identify.

It felt like such an off day compared to what sometimes went down. At the time I didn’t think we got enough to send to Big Brother. I was pretty bummed and never sent the rolls. They sat for about 20 years undeveloped. Honestly I’m glad I never sent them. It would have been cool to see a few clips we shot in a Big Brother montage but that would have been forgotten. It is way better to have this now. I think this footage is a good time capsule of an average day skating downtown in the mid-90s. I feel lucky to have spent so much time there back then and this film feels like my hazy memories of being there””.
